The Virtual Classroom (Distance Learning) The following classes are implemented by using a technology that lets the teacher and all students interact in real time as if they were in the same classroom. You will be able to see and hear each other, ask and respond to questions and work as a team, from the comfort of your own home or office. That means... classes are LIVE!! Before your first class: Make sure your computer is equipped with a microphone and speakers or headphones. For a more realistic classroom feel, install a webcam with a built-in microphone. A "set-up session" will be offered prior to the first class, for parents and students to get familiar with the process of signing in before each class. Format for all classes: Length: 45-minutes, once a week. Introductory Fee (only for 2008): New Students: $150 per Session (8 weeks). Current students: $125 per Session (8 weeks). Books not included. The exercises and text presented in this class are carefully graded to lead from simple isolated problems, such as interval recognition, all the way to the transcription of short pieces from the music literature. Several categories of exercises appear throughout this class, including: • Rhythmic dictation drills. • Preliminary exercises for melodic and harmonic dictation. • Melodies and phrase-length harmonic exercises. No instrument required to take this class. A webcam is strongly recommended, but microphone on headphones will do just fine. Click for the Registration Form |
