1. New students must arrange a placement interview with Martha Yelenosky. This process assists both the instructor and the student in finding the most appropriate method for his/her needs and interests. There will be no lesson observations, instead one (1) free trial lesson will be offered. 2. New students may begin taking lessons at any time, and are not required to wait until the official beginning of a session (Fall I, Fall II, etc.). However, when a new student enrolls after the session is already under way, he/she must either: A.) Register for a full session which will then be compressed into the number of weeks remaining in that session so as to finish up in time to meet up with the next regularly scheduled billing. B.) (or) Register for as many lessons as there are weeks remaining in the current period in addition to the entire following session, for a total of 9-15 weeks worth of lessons to be done at the regular 1 lesson per week pace (so as to finish up in time to meet up with the next regularly scheduled billing). 3. Tuition charges do not cover the cost of books, music, or other materials. 1. During registration periods, continuing students will receive an invoice in the mail. If the invoice is not received please call me. A portion of the invoice should be returned with tuition fee by the given due date, to ensure placement in the studio. 2. Students who discontinue private lessons during a session are still responsible for full payment of the session\u2019s tuition. 3. Delinquency in payment of fees may result in suspension of instruction. 4. Tuition charges do not cover the cost of books, music, or other materials. 1. Regular attendance is expected of all students. Students are charged for all lessons for which they register including those missed through student absence. Notification of inability to attend lesson does not excuse payment for the lesson (except during Summer Session). 2. In the case of lessons missed by students, one (1) make up lesson will be offered per session if notification of absence is given by 5:00 PM of the day prior to the scheduled lesson.0 3. Summer Session Only: For vacation days, a letter stating the days in which your child or yourself will not be able to attend lessons must accompany your payment. This letter should contain the student\u2019s name, the time and day of lessons and those dates that you will not be able to attend. If this information does not accompany the payment, on or before the due registration date, I will assume that no make-up / discount dates are needed. 4. In the event the instructor cancels a lesson, a make-up will be offered. 5. Tardiness: Students who are late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time. 6. No make-ups will be carried over from one session to the next. All make-ups must be scheduled and completed in the session in which they were missed, during a group week. 7. Students are expected to come to all lessons prepared. Assignments are given at every private lesson (i.e.: Theory, Technique and Repertoire). Group lessons review concepts through theory activities and games. Students should bring the piece they will perform, even if they can play it by memory, as well as a notebook, and a pencil. Due to the complexity of scheduling private lessons, refunds are not available. Please take advantage of the free initial consultation and trial lesson, which offer opportunities to learn about current teaching methods. Martha Yelenosky reserves the right to cancel, postpone, combine or split lessons and groups, and to change time/location of lessons. The entire payment will be refunded in the case of cancellation.
